SE Systems and The Bryan Series
SE Systems is midway through the 2016-2017 season of the Bryan Series presented by Guilford College. This is the third year we have handled the production duties for this educational and cultural experience. The Bryan Series was started 20 years ago for students, faculty and staff of the College and residents of Greensboro and the central North Carolina region by providing speaker programs featuring well-known figures in the arts, humanities and public affairs. In 2014 the Greensboro Coliseum was selected for a four-year run until the new Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts is completed in downtown Greensboro. There are two shows left this season until the fall when the 2017-2018 season kicks off.
SE Systems partnership with the Bryan Series over the past 3 years has helped to improve the overall balance of production and style this event presents. Working in the Greensboro Coliseum brings its own set of challenges for any production company. The Bryan Series transforms the Coliseum into an intimate theater room for 3500+ attendees.
Wireless Sennheiser and DPA mic’s are used onstage so you will see no cable runs. The room requires concert like line arrays and near fields that do not clutter site lines. JBL VERTEC VT4888’s were used for the line arrays with VT4887’s as front fills. Our Digico SD9 Digital console was used for audio and the Avolites Quartz for lighting console. We used the Robe Robin DLX LED Spots, Robe Robin 600 wash LED’s and the GLP Impression V4 Bars to bring a soft theater look to the set.
SE Systems is proud to be a part of this cultural event and we look forward to a long relationship with the Bryan Series presented by Guilford College.
